About this tool
What the Treatment Plan Value Calculator does
Patients decide on treatment based on what they will pay. This calculator totals planned procedures, estimates insurance coverage by category within the annual maximum and deductible, and shows the patient portion and a monthly payment with financing.
Formula
- Total = Σ quantity × fee
- Insurance = min(remaining maximum, Σ fee × coverage − deductible)
- Patient portion = total − insurance; monthly = amortised payment
Worked example
Using the starting values in the calculator above:
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Procedures | 4 entries |
| Remaining deductible | $50.00 |
| Remaining annual maximum | $1,500 |
| Financing term | 12 months |
| Financing APR | 0% |
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Patient portion | $1,880 |
| Monthly payment with financing | $156.67 |
| Total treatment fee | $3,380 |
| Estimated insurance payment | $1,500 |
How to read the result
Phasing treatment across benefit years can make better use of two annual maximums.
Presenting a monthly payment alongside the total often improves case acceptance.
Insurance estimates are not guarantees of payment. Check benefits with the plan.
