Hospitals and medical centres
We provide hospital website design and development for private hospitals, hospital groups and specialist medical centres in the UK, the US, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Patients find the right department and doctor quickly, and your teams publish updates through a governed workflow.
A hospital website is one of the largest and most visited sites in its city. Patients, visitors, referring doctors, insurers and job seekers all arrive with different questions. Good hospital website design gives each of them a short, obvious route, while keeping hundreds of pages accurate and approved.
We work with private hospitals, multi-hospital groups, specialist centres such as cardiac, maternity or orthopaedic hospitals, and hospital departments that need their own presence. The work covers information architecture, design, the content system, search visibility and the patient journeys behind them.
A hospital website needs to help a patient find the right department and doctor, understand how to access care, and request or book an appointment without calling a switchboard. It also has to serve visitors, referrers and staff without burying patients.
That means a doctor finder searchable by specialty, language and location, department pages with conditions treated and how to get referred, and clear insurance and self-pay information. Visitor details such as parking, visiting hours and wayfinding matter too. Behind the scenes, content needs owners, review dates and approval steps.
Hospital sites rarely fail on design. They fail on structure and upkeep.
We start with UX design: research, card sorting and a structure built around conditions, departments and doctors. The build uses website design and development on a CMS, often WordPress, with roles, approval workflows and review reminders for each page.
Technical SEO keeps a large site crawlable, fast and correctly marked up with Hospital, Physician and MedicalSpecialty schema. Local SEO manages Google Business Profiles for each hospital and outpatient site.
An administrative assistant can answer visiting hours, parking, insurance and appointment questions in Arabic and English. Anything clinical or urgent is routed to staff or emergency guidance.
In Saudi Arabia, private hospitals serve insured and self-pay patients, and the Council of Health Insurance shapes which insurers they list. Patients expect Arabic first, WhatsApp contact and mobile apps alongside the site. CBAHI accreditation and Ministry of Health rules on health advertising matter. We work with providers in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province, and in Abu Dhabi and Dubai under DoH and DHA rules.
In the UK, private hospitals compete on waiting times, prices and consultant reputation, and CQC ratings are a key trust signal. In the US, insurance networks, price transparency rules and Joint Commission accreditation shape the content, and tracking on patient pages needs close care.
This is a composite example, not a client story. A private hospital group with several sites has one site per hospital, each built at a different time. Doctor profiles are inconsistent, and appointment requests go to a shared inbox.
The new platform uses one CMS with a shared doctor directory and department structure, and a page for each hospital. Appointment requests route to the right booking team, and Arabic content is written by translators and reviewed by clinicians. Every page has an owner and a review date. The group then measures requests by department and source each month.
A hospital website typically costs between £20,000 and £120,000, depending on scope. The main cost drivers are the number of departments and doctors, integrations with booking or HIS systems, bilingual content, the number of hospitals on the platform, and governance workflows. A single specialist hospital sits at the lower end. A multi-hospital group with live booking and full Arabic content sits at the upper end. Ongoing SEO and support are priced monthly. See the ranges below and our pricing page; we give a fixed quote after scoping.

Compliance
General guidance, not legal advice. Your own compliance lead or adviser confirms what applies to your organisation.
Health data is special category data, so forms, booking and analytics are designed to collect the minimum, usually with a DPIA. CQC ratings are commonly displayed. Your data protection officer confirms the details.
Where the site handles protected health information, HIPAA may cover forms, hosting and vendors, and tracking pixels on patient pages are a known risk area. Hospital price transparency rules also apply. Confirm scope with your compliance adviser.
The Personal Data Protection Law, overseen by SDAIA, treats health data as sensitive and restricts transfers outside the Kingdom. Ministry of Health rules govern health advertising, and CBAHI accreditation is often shown. Your legal team confirms the requirements.
Dubai DHA and Abu Dhabi DoH typically require approval for medical advertising, and federal law restricts where health data is stored. We check the rules for each emirate and country at scoping.
Hospitals are expected to be accessible under the UK Equality Act and US disability law, including the ADA and Section 1557. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA as standard.

A hospital website typically costs from £20,000 for a specialist hospital to around £120,000 for a multi-hospital group platform. Integrations, the size of the doctor directory and bilingual content move the price most. We give a fixed quote after scoping.
Most hospital redesigns take four to six months, including research, migration and content review. Groups often launch in phases, one hospital or department at a time.
Yes, where your hospital information or booking system offers an integration, such as Epic, Oracle Health or a regional HIS. Otherwise we build an appointment request flow that routes to the right booking team.
We feed the directory from one source, ideally your HR or credentialing system, and give each profile an owner and review date so changes are not missed.
Yes. We build full Arabic and English versions with right-to-left layout. Clinical content is translated by people and reviewed by your clinicians before it is published.
We design forms, hosting, analytics and vendors around the rules that apply to you and keep health data out of advertising tools. Compliance depends on the whole organisation, so your compliance lead confirms the final position.
It depends on the size of your team and your integrations. WordPress suits many hospitals with the right roles and workflows; very large groups sometimes need a headless or enterprise CMS. We recommend one at scoping.
No. An assistant we build handles administrative questions such as visiting hours, parking, insurance and appointments. Clinical and urgent questions go to staff or emergency guidance.
