Secure Share Link with Lead Capture
Wrap a web address or a PDF in a private link that asks for a name, email and phone number before revealing it, and see exactly who opened it.
- Links expire in 24 hours
- Private files, deleted automatically
The tool
Add what you want to share and your contact details, then send the link you get.
Loading the tool…
Files and details entered here are stored on our server so the link can work. Links stop accepting visitors after 24 hours, and everything, including files, responses and signed copies, is deleted 7 days after that. Tokens travel only in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers do not send to servers, and we store only fingerprints of them.
What this tool checks
- Validates the web address you share and refuses local or private network addresses
- Accepts PDF documents only, up to a fixed size, and stores them outside the public website
- Requires a name, a valid email and a phone number with 7 to 15 digits before anything is revealed
- Shows visitors the destination domain before they enter their details
- Records when each person opened the link and lets you export the list as CSV
- Stops accepting visitors after 24 hours or when the limit you set is reached
How to read the results
- Create the link and save the private dashboard link straight away. It is shown only once.
- Send the public link by email, chat or QR code to the people you want to share with.
- Open your dashboard to see each name, email, phone number and time, and export them as CSV.
- Close the link early, or delete everything, from the dashboard whenever you like.
About this tool
What a secure share link does
It puts a short form in front of something you want to share. You choose a web address or upload a PDF, such as a price list, a brochure, a report, an event pack or a download page. The people you send the link to see your name, your message and the domain they will be taken to. To continue, they enter their name, email address and phone number and agree to share them with you. Only then is the address or the document revealed.
You get a private dashboard listing everyone who opened it, with the time they did so, and you can export the list as a spreadsheet. The link stops working after 24 hours, which keeps a document from circulating indefinitely.
When it is the right tool
It suits situations where you hand something valuable to a known audience and want to know who took it: sending a proposal pack to a shortlist, sharing a recording after a webinar, handing out a menu or catalogue at an event through a QR code, or giving a document to applicants. It is not a paywall and not a replacement for proper access control. A determined visitor can type any name, and anyone who has seen the destination can pass it on.
Built so visitors can trust it
Gated links are a favourite tool of phishing, so this one is deliberately transparent. Before visitors type anything they see who created the link and the exact domain they will reach. After they submit the form, the full address is shown as text, and the button opens it in a new tab rather than redirecting them automatically. Nothing on the page asks for a password, a card number or a one-time code, and a genuine link from this tool never will.
We also limit how many links each connection can create per day, check every destination address and refuse local or private network addresses, accept only PDF uploads, and add an invisible trap for automated spam. Every link expires on its own, and the site administrator can close or delete any link reported to us.
Privacy, retention and who sees what
The destination address or PDF and every response are stored on our server only so the link can work. The link accepts visitors for 24 hours, and everything is deleted automatically a few days after that, as stated on this page, so download your list before then. Two parties can see the responses: you, through your private dashboard link, and the administrator of this website. For gated links we keep only a keyed fingerprint of each visitor IP address, not the address itself.
The visitor agrees to share their details with you, by name, before submitting. Use them only for the purpose you gave, keep them secure, and delete them when you no longer need them. If you operate in a country with data protection law, such as the GDPR in Europe, you are the controller of the data you collect this way.
Tips for better response
- Give the link a clear title that matches what people expect, for example “Spring price list 2027”.
- Use the message to say why you ask for a phone number. People share more readily when they know why.
- Set a sensible maximum number of people, so a forwarded link cannot fill your list with strangers.
- For events, download the QR code and print it on a table card or a slide.
Limits and honest caveats
- Anyone with the public link can open the form. The details they type are not verified beyond their format.
- A visitor who has the destination address can share it onwards. Use a document or page that is useful only to the intended audience.
- Links stop accepting visitors after 24 hours, and the file and responses are deleted a few days later, as stated on this page.
- Email alerts depend on the server mail setup. The dashboard is the reliable record.
- Each person must agree to share their details with you. You are responsible for using them lawfully, for example under GDPR.
What people use it for
- Sharing a price list or catalogue and knowing who downloaded it
- Giving webinar attendees a recording link for one day only
- Collecting contact details at an event through a printed QR code
- Sending a proposal pack to a shortlist of prospects
- Handing applicants a document while keeping a record of who received it
