About this tool
What it reports
The file name, the type the browser reports, the size in both readable and exact bytes, and the last modified timestamp.
About the reported type
The browser infers type largely from the file extension rather than examining the contents. Rename a file from one extension to another and it reports as the new type. That is worth knowing if you are checking something from an untrusted source: the reported type is a claim, not a verification.
Nothing is uploaded
The local file interface reads only the metadata. Nothing reads, transmits or stores the contents.
Exact bytes against upload limits
Servers enforce upload limits in bytes, while file managers usually display rounded megabytes. A file displaying as ten megabytes may sit just over a ten megabyte limit. The exact byte count here is the figure the limit compares against.

Questions
Questions about this tool
The things clients actually want to know — costs, timelines, ownership and what happens after launch.
No. We read only its metadata, locally, and never touch or transmit the contents.
The browser infers type from the extension. An unrecognised or missing extension gives no type.
It states what the extension claims rather than verifying the contents. Treat it accordingly for untrusted files.
File managers often show rounded sizes. The exact byte count here is the precise figure.
Yes, since it reads only the metadata rather than the contents.
