About this tool
What placeholder text is for
Filler text lets you judge a layout without the words distracting you. It shows how a block of prose sits in a column, where a heading falls, and whether line length is comfortable, all before the real copy exists.
When not to use it
Designing entirely around placeholder text is a common way to produce a layout that breaks the moment real content arrives. Real headlines run longer than you expect, real paragraphs vary, and real content carries lists and links. Use filler to start, then replace it early.
Deterministic output
The same settings always produce the same text. That sounds like a limitation and is actually useful: comparing two layout options is only fair if the content in them is identical, and regenerating different filler each time quietly changes the thing you are trying to measure.
If you need to test how a layout copes with variation, generate several paragraph counts and compare those instead.
