What the Etsy Seller Profit Calculator does
Etsy charges a listing fee, a transaction fee on the item price and shipping, and payment processing fees. Handmade sellers also need to count materials and their own time. This calculator shows profit per sale and the hourly rate your work actually earns.
Formula
- Fees = listing fee + (price + shipping) × (transaction + processing + offsite ads rates) + fixed processing fee
- Profit = price + shipping − fees − materials − packaging − shipping cost
- Hourly earnings = profit ÷ hours to make

How to read the result
If the hourly figure is below what you would accept for an employed job, the price is too low, however healthy the margin looks.
Offsite ads fees apply only to sales from Etsy’s external advertising, but they are a large percentage, so price with them in mind if you are enrolled.
Marketplace fees change and vary by category and country. Check the platform’s current fee schedule before pricing.
