About this tool

What the Dropshipping Landed Cost Calculator does

In dropshipping you never hold stock, so each order’s cost is the supplier price, the supplier’s shipping, payment fees and the advertising it took to win the sale. This calculator totals those costs and shows the cost per acquisition at which an order stops making money.

Formula

  • Landed cost = supplier price + supplier shipping + price × (payment fees + refund allowance)
  • Break-even CPA = price − landed cost
  • Profit = break-even CPA − actual ad cost per order

Worked example

Using the starting values in the calculator above:

Input Value
Selling price $49.99
Supplier product price $12.00
Supplier shipping $4.00
Payment and platform fees 3%
Ad cost per order $15.00
Refund allowance 3%
Result Value
Profit per order $15.99
Break-even CPA $30.99
Landed cost per order $19.00
Net margin 32.0%
Break-even ROAS 1.61x

How to read the result

Most dropshipping products fail on advertising cost, not product cost. Know the break-even CPA before you launch a test campaign.

Long delivery times increase refunds and chargebacks; include a realistic refund allowance.

Marketplace fees change and vary by category and country. Check the platform’s current fee schedule before pricing.

Questions

Questions about this tool

The things clients actually want to know — costs, timelines, ownership and what happens after launch.

Everything it costs to get one order to the customer: supplier price, shipping, payment fees and an allowance for refunds.

Many sellers look for a product price at least three times the landed cost, to leave room for advertising.

Subtract the landed cost from the selling price. That is the most you can spend on ads per order without a loss.
