About this tool
What the Product Landed Cost Calculator does
Landed cost is the total cost of getting a product to your warehouse: the factory price plus freight, insurance, customs duty, brokerage and handling. Duty is charged on a customs value, which some countries base on the goods alone (FOB) and others include freight and insurance (CIF).
Formula
- Customs value = goods (FOB) or goods + freight + insurance (CIF)
- Duty = customs value × duty rate
- Landed cost = goods + freight + insurance + duty + brokerage + other fees
- Per unit = landed cost ÷ units

How to read the result
Import VAT or GST is usually recoverable for registered businesses, so it is left out here. Use the customs duty calculator if you need it.
Price on landed cost, not factory cost. A 40% uplift from freight and duty can wipe out a margin that looked healthy on the supplier quote.
