About this tool
What the Carbon Credit Value Calculator does
Carbon projects earn one credit for each tonne of CO₂-equivalent reduced or removed, after verification. Standards often hold back a share in a buffer pool to cover the risk of reversal. Revenue is the credits sold times the price, less verification, registry and broker costs.
It also works as a carbon offset credit value calculator.
Formula
- Credits = annual reductions × (1 − buffer share)
- Net revenue = credits × price × (1 − fees) − verification costs
- Break-even price = verification ÷ (credits × (1 − fees))

How to read the result
Credit prices vary enormously by project type, standard, vintage and co-benefits; removals generally trade higher than avoidance credits.
Fixed verification costs make small projects hard to fund; aggregating projects can spread them.
