Utilisation is billable hours as a share of available hours. It is the main driver of profitability in agencies and professional services firms. This calculator shows current utilisation, the gap to your target and the revenue that gap represents at your billing rate.
It also works as a billable utilization calculator.
Formula
- Utilisation = billable hours ÷ available hours
- Gap hours = (target × available − billed) × people
- Revenue opportunity = gap hours × billing rate
