About this tool
What the SaaS Pricing Model Calculator does
The same customers can produce very different revenue depending on how a product is priced. This calculator applies flat-rate, per-seat and usage-based pricing to your customer profile and shows which model earns most, and the revenue per customer under each.
Formula
- Flat MRR = customers × flat price
- Per-seat MRR = customers × seats × price per seat
- Usage MRR = customers × (platform fee + units × price per unit)
Worked example
Using the starting values in the calculator above:
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Customers | 200 |
| Average seats per customer | 12 |
| Price per seat per month | $15.00 |
| Flat price per customer per month | $150 |
| Average usage units per customer | 5,000 |
| Price per usage unit | $0.02 |
| Platform fee with usage pricing | $49.00 |
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Highest-revenue model | Per seat |
| ARR under that model | $432,000 |
| Flat-rate MRR | $30,000 |
| Per-seat MRR | $36,000 |
| Usage-based MRR | $29,800 |
How to read the result
Revenue is not the only test. Per-seat pricing can discourage adoption inside a customer, and usage pricing makes bills less predictable, which some buyers dislike.
Hybrid models, such as a platform fee plus included seats or usage, often capture growth without making the entry price feel risky.
