About this tool
What the Material Cost Estimator does
A material estimate starts with a take-off: each material, its quantity and unit price. Each line needs a waste allowance for cuts and damage, and the total needs tax and delivery. This estimator handles all of it and shows which materials drive the budget.
Formula
- Quantity with waste = quantity × (1 + waste)
- Line cost = quantity with waste × unit price
- Total = Σ line costs × (1 + tax) + delivery
