About this tool
What the Dental Associate Compensation Calculator does
Associate dentists are commonly paid a percentage of production or collections, often around 28% to 35%, sometimes after deducting part of lab fees, with a daily guaranteed minimum. The higher of percentage pay and the guarantee is what the associate earns for the period.
Formula
- Base = production, or production × collection rate
- Percentage pay = base × % − lab fees × deducted share × %
- Pay = the higher of percentage pay and days × daily guarantee
