Where stores lose money
Traffic is rarely the binding constraint. Revenue leaks from a small number of specific places, and they are consistent across almost every store we audit:
- Product pages that do not answer the obvious objection — fit, compatibility, durability.
- Search and filtering that cannot find what the customer is describing.
- Delivery cost revealed only at the final checkout step.
- A mobile experience noticeably harder than desktop.
- No follow-up after an abandoned cart or a completed order.
Fixing these usually produces more revenue than increasing traffic, and costs considerably less.
Shopify or WooCommerce
Shopify when you want hosting, security and PCI compliance handled and your requirements are broadly standard. WooCommerce when you need unusual pricing logic, deep content integration or full control over hosting and data.
We recommend on your catalogue, your team and your margins — not on commission. Sometimes the honest answer is the cheaper platform.
Product pages that convert
Clear imagery with zoom, readable specifications, delivery cost and timing shown before checkout, honest stock status, reviews, and cross-sells that make sense. Product schema so price, availability and ratings can appear directly in search results.
Checkout
Guest checkout available. Minimal fields. Visible progress. Wallet payments for mobile. No surprises at the final step. Each of these is individually small and collectively decisive.
What happens after the sale
Abandoned cart recovery, post-purchase sequences and review requests are usually the highest-return work available on an established store — see our guide to email automation flows. We configure these at launch rather than treating them as a later phase.
What it costs
Ecommerce builds start around £4,800 and depend heavily on catalogue size, variant complexity and integrations. Migrations from an existing platform are quoted separately and always include redirect mapping, because that is where most migrations quietly lose their rankings.
